Born in Shirley, Croydon in 1989 to parents of Barbadian descent. Nova Raye found her love for literature at an early age. Nova would love becoming engrossed in a good story and letting her imagination run wild with the character's images in her mind. Nova became a vivid and animated storyteller capturing and gripping the attention of those listening. Nova is now beginning her journey as an aspiring author and began writing her first book in 2021 as part of a therapeutic process. What had started as a cathartic exercise filled Nova with a whole new purpose as the floodgates opened. Stories entered her mind daily, then poems and occasionally songs.

Nova has found herself on a journey of evolution and self-discovery.

Nova wants to welcome you and invite you to travel alongside her as she embarks on her journey and writing process. 

It will all be here, the real, uncut truths. The highs, the lows, the stumbling blocks, the successes and whatever else is in between. 

A new woman emerged post-pandemic therefore, everything here will be done a Nova way.  

Established in 2020

Originally known as Women Empowering Women book club. 

Now relaunching under the new name Empowered Women. Is the flagship and where Nova's Journey truly began. Empowered Women is made up of a variety of women of all ages, and backgrounds . The youngest member when book club began was 23 and the eldest was 62. What at first started as a bookclub transformed in to a sisterhood. It became a safe space to be open, and vulnerable in a judgement free zone. These women delve deep into the pages of each book they read to get the best out of each book. Participating in quizzes, games nights, meet ups and  books are chosen by a number draw. 

In December 2020 a new and exciting concept was introduced. In between books an influential/inspirational female would make a guest appearance. Nova would have an interview style conversation asking questions posed by each individual member of book club.

is a book club launched in January 2023 for children divided into two age groups. 

ages 8 -10 every Monday 5 pm - 6 pm and

We are l.i.t (literary) kids is all about facilitating personal growth, confidence and self-esteem. The environment aids the development of social skills and allows the children to learn debating skills in a safe and fun environment.  

Reading together each week, the children participate in monthly spellings tests, and are sent the tricky words along with the definitions.  Short tasks are provided that they can do in their spare time. Each week we finish with games.

This is my authentic space where I will share my thoughts, poetry, book recommendations and more. 

For the past few years I have been on a journey of self - discovery, healing and growth. Follow along my journey with me as I make strides to publishing my first book, whilst being a full time homeschool Mum and strive to conquer my PTSD and release the traumas I had for so long attempted to conceal. In this space I will bare all, the good, the bad and the ugly. I hope that you find something here that  motivates, uplifts, inspires or simply moves you. I believe nothing that happens in life happens for no reason, i'm ready to share my story with you.
